There are three major components that go into our audience authenticity measure:
1) % of Fake and Mass Followers: These are followers that have been purchased (fake followers) or followers who follow 1,000+ other accounts (mass followers). We discount mass followers simply because it is often more difficult for brands to reach this audience since these followers follow many accounts who are also posting.
2) Engagement Rate: We look at the relative engagement rate of an account compared to the accounts industry and sub-industries.
3) Bot Activity: We monitor bot activity from accounts that could cause brands to construe incorrect results from a campaign.
